Building Tomorrow: The Evolution of Konnect Youth Consortium

Konnect Youth Consortium (KYC) is an independent, non-profit, non-governmental organization, with its headquarters (HQ) located in Kericho, Kenya and registered with the Kenya NGO coordination bureau since June 2007. The organization’s has other branches in Narok, Bomet and Kilgoris and is at present carrying out successful programs targeting the young people.These programs include Health: with a focus on HIV/AIDS Prevention, provision of Comprehensive Reproductive Health Services. Youth empowerment programs: these include leadership development, creative arts, peace building and social cohesion. Environmental conservation: KYC has supported initiatives and measures to respond to key environmental issues and challenges and emerging global environmental concerns.

Since its inception, KYC has carried out several projects supported by different donors and partners. These partners include: PEPFAR through the Walter Reed project (WRP), National AIDS Control Council (NACC), AMREF and Mercy Corps, I Choose Life –Fanikisha project, Kenya Film Commission and Digital Opportunity Trust (DOT), Gender Violence recovery Centre (GVRC). Furthermore, KYC is networked with County health leadership, CHMT and works with key government agencies such as NASCOP, NACC, MOYA, County department of Health Narok, Bomet and Kericho Counties. The partnerships has enabled KYC to reach young people in and out of school, Key populations and the general populations with interventions that address health and other social issues.
