As Chairperson of the Board for Konnect Youth Consortium, Dr. Wesley Bor provides strategic oversight, ensuring that the organization stays aligned with its mission to empower youth and foster sustainable development. He brings over 13 years of experience in governance, public administration, and academic leadership, with a strong focus on human resource management and community-based service delivery. Dr. Bor has previously served as the County Secretary and Head of County Public Service for Kericho County and as Dean of the School of Medicine and Health Sciences at Kabarak University. His leadership is grounded in a commitment to advancing local entrepreneurship and fostering inclusive growth, particularly through the development of youth-focused programs.
Daniel is the CEO and Managing Director of Konnect Youth Consortium, spearheading health initiatives in HIV prevention, reproductive health, and TB prevention for underserved communities. With a Master’s in Business Administration and advanced training in project management and leadership from Harvard Kennedy School, Daniel ensures impactful, partner-funded projects in collaboration with USAID, the Global Fund, AMREF, and others. As a Gratitude Network and Emerging Leaders Foundation fellow, he is deeply committed to youth empowerment and community health, fostering local and international networks to drive sustainable health solutions across Africa.
Pheanson Kirui is a dynamic and compassionate Pastor and Administrator with extensive experience in chaplaincy, youth mentorship, and transformative men’s discipleship programs. With a strong passion for holistic ministry, he has dedicated his life to creating spaces where individuals—especially youth and men—can thrive spiritually, emotionally, and socially. He currently serves as the Manager of Spiritual Services at AGC Tenwek Cardiothoracic Center, providing strategic oversight for chaplaincy services, pastoral care, and crisis support, while integrating faith with professional care in a clinical setting. Since 2009, he has also faithfully served as Pastor and Administrator at Immanuel Africa Gospel Church – Kericho, where he leads spiritual growth initiatives, discipleship, and community outreach. Pheanson holds a Bachelor of Theology from Kenya Highlands College, participated in an exchange program at Asbury College (USA), and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Christian Ministries at Bethel University (USA).
Nickson serves as the regional coordinator at the National Syndemic Diseases Control Council, leveraging his 30+ years of experience in public health programs, particularly in HIV, Malaria, and Tuberculosis. With a bachelor’s degree in Public Health from Jomo Kenyatta University, Nickson brings a wealth of experience in policy development and community engagement, particularly with Advancing Clinical Trials Globally (ACTG).
With over 20 years of experience in program planning and management, Simon brings invaluable expertise to the board in advancing education, Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH), HIV prevention, and Gender-Based Violence (GBV) initiatives. His role as a National Mentor and membership in several National Technical Working Groups enables him to provide technical guidance on SRH and HIV policies, making a significant impact on community-led projects.
An Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, Maryleen holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree from Kabarak University and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law. Currently pursuing a Certified Secretaries course, she combines her legal expertise and mediation skills to support parliamentary affairs at the Law Society of Kenya. Maryleen’s dedication to youth empowerment is evident through her work and volunteer efforts, aligning with the organization’s mission.
Dr. Makerer, a seasoned educator with a Ph.D. in Psychology, has spent over 27 years fostering the growth and development of young people through teaching and educational management. Her extensive background in psychology and commitment to personal growth initiatives make her a pivotal asset to the board.
Vivian is a skilled program coordinator and administrator with a Bachelor’s degree in Community Development and a Master’s in Project Planning and Management. Her dedication to organizational effectiveness and team collaboration enhances the organization’s ability to drive positive project outcomes.
Dickson Kigwenay is a seasoned health professional with over two decades of experience in clinical services, HIV/AIDS programming, and health systems strengthening in Kenya. He currently serves as the County AIDS & STI Coordinator and Malaria Control Coordinator for Narok County, where he also plays a key role in clinical services coordination, policy implementation, and capacity building for healthcare workers. He has led numerous public health initiatives, including HIV/AIDS mentorship programs, malaria control, health worker training, and strategic planning at both County and District levels. He holds a Master of Science in Health Systems Management and a Bachelor of Science in the same field from Kenya Methodist University. Additionally, he is a certified graduate of the County Health Systems Strengthening (CHESS) program at Strathmore University and a licensed clinical officer with a Diploma in Clinical Medicine & Surgery.
Obwiri Kenyatta is a public health leader with over 18 years of experience in health programs, policy, and research across Kenya and beyond. As a CDC Public Health Specialist, he chairs the PEPFAR Interagency Technical Team for People with increased epidemiological risk, guiding HIV prevention and treatment. His work emphasizes expanding HIV services and harm reduction for people who inject drugs in sub-Saharan Africa. Previously, at EGPAF, he pioneered integrated service models and behavioral interventions for People with increased epidemiological risk. Obwiri holds a master’s in Community Health and a first-class honors degree in Communication and Media Technology.

Elvis Embeheze is an accomplished Project Coordinator with over 13 years of experience in planning, implementing, and managing complex programs across Kenya and African communities. Elvis ensures compliance with donor and government regulations and is highly skilled in data management and procurement. Known for his accountability, adaptability, and attention to detail, he is dedicated to driving impactful, community-focused results.
Kelvin Kiplangat, an experienced finance and administrative professional, currently serves as the CFO at Konnect Youth Consortium. Kelvin brings extensive expertise in financial reporting, donor compliance (PEPFAR, USAID, Global Fund), audit preparation, and asset management. His work ensures fiscal accountability and efficiency across KYC’s programs, supporting sustainable financial growth within African contexts.
Joyce Chao, KYC’s Monitoring & Evaluation officer. With over seven years of experience in monitoring and evaluating programs related to HIV/AIDS, TB, Gender, Youth, and Reproductive Health. Known for her hands-on approach, Joice also conducts capacity building and knowledge management, presenting critical research at international forums to highlight African-led insights and solutions.
