Dr Wesly Bor

Chairperson

Wesley Bor holds a PhD, Master and Bachelor of Science degree in Food, Nutrition and Dietetics and has over 14 years’ experience in public, private sector and non-governmental organization. Wesley has served in Kabarak University for over 4 years. Prior to joining Kabarak University as founding head of department for Human Nutrition and Public Health, Wesley Coordinated Nutrition Program for the Presidential Emergency Fund for Aids Relief (PEPFAR) Walter Reed DOD project in South Rift Valley for a period of 6 years.

As point of contact for the project in South Rift Valley, he facilitated senior level policy and programmatic dialogue with the ministry of health and developing partners. In this capacity, he also he effectively coordinated DOD resources in compliance with DOD financial systems, standard and regulations. He also served as SIMS (Site Improvement Through Monitoring Systems) Manager. Wesley is a member of various Nutrition Technical working group as weal of National Chair for MEAL subcommittee and currently involved in revision of guidelines for managing covid-19.

In addition to that Wesley successfully participated in the development of BMS Regulation Act, 2012, MIYCN Policy (2020) and revision of Nutrition in HIV Guidelines (2019) among other. In addition, Wesley is a national trainer in IMAM, Nutrition in HIV and TOT for MIYCN. Achievements included capacity building of staffs through knowledge and skills transfers and facilitated improved service delivery in health facilities.
